In this position, you will be part of a mobile imaging unit that travels to various clinical sites throughout the greater Tuscaloosa area. These may include outpatient clinics, physician offices, and community-based facilities, providing you with exposure to diverse patient populations and practice settings. The mobile unit is equipped with state-of-the-art nuclear medicine and PET/CT technology, allowing you to deliver high-quality cardiac and advanced imaging services in a convenient and accessible format for patients.
Your typical day will involve preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols, performing cardiac nuclear imaging studies such as stress and rest myocardial perfusion exams, gated SPECT imaging, and related cardiac assessments. You will also conduct PET/CT examinations, including oncologic and cardiac indications, ensuring accurate positioning, clear communication with patients, and careful monitoring of image quality. You will work closely with referring providers to ensure appropriate exam scheduling, protocol selection, and timely transmission of images and reports through EMR and PACS systems.
Patient interaction is central to this role. You will explain procedures clearly, address patient concerns, and create a calm, professional environment within the mobile unit. You will adhere to strict radiation safety standards, maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness, and follow all regulatory and accreditation requirements. Depending on the route and facility needs, patient volumes may vary, giving you a balance of steady workflow and the flexibility inherent in mobile imaging.
Shifts are typically structured during daytime hours, with some variation based on facility schedules and mobile route logistics. You will coordinate closely with the mobile team to optimize travel time, set-up, and patient flow at each stop. This environment supports professional growth through exposure to a wide range of cardiac and PET/CT cases, opportunities to refine protocols, and collaboration with multiple clinical teams in the region.

Experience: 2 years
Certifications(At least one of the following): BLS-AHA, N-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, N-Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
AND
CT Technologist, Positron Emission Tomography
