As a Travel IR Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting in various interventional radiology procedures, including angiography, biopsies, and catheter placements. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging and patient care. Your typical day will involve preparing patients for procedures, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. You will also be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and documenting patient information accurately.
To qualify for this position, you must have a valid IR technologist certification, BLS, ACLS and at least 2 years of experience in interventional radiology. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and familiarity with IR safety protocols are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are also required.
Recommended skills include experience with advanced IR techniques, such as embolization and stent placements, as well as knowledge of contrast agents and their administration.
