Job Description & Requirements
Computed Tomography Technologist - (CT Tech)
StartDate: ASAP
Available Shifts: 8 D
Pay Rate: $3127.00 - $3222.00
This 13-week CT Technologist assignment is based in the charming New England community of Farmington, Connecticut. Located in the greater Hartford area, Farmington combines the feel of a classic historic town with the convenience of being close to a major city. Tree-lined streets, preserved colonial architecture and nearby farmland give the area a peaceful, small-town atmosphere, while a short drive connects you to Hartford’s museums, theaters, restaurants and events. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy access to the Farmington River, local greenways and parks, and year-round recreational activities, from kayaking and cycling to winter sports in the region.
The facility offers a professional imaging environment with access to GE and Siemens CT scanners, allowing you to broaden and deepen your technical skills across multiple platforms. You will be part of a collaborative care team that values high-quality imaging, patient safety, and consistent communication. This setting is ideal for CT technologists looking to enhance their cross-sectional imaging experience in a busy and well-organized department.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position on second shift, working 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., five days per week. You will participate in an every-4th-weekend rotation and may be asked to take call, providing exposure to a wide range of emergent and urgent studies. This schedule offers a mix of routine and acute imaging, giving you the chance to work with diverse patient populations and case types. A typical day includes receiving patients from the emergency department, inpatient units and scheduled outpatients, reviewing orders and histories, selecting and executing appropriate CT protocols, and coordinating with nursing and providers to ensure safe and efficient exams.
You can expect to perform a variety of CT procedures such as neuro, chest, abdominal, musculoskeletal and angiographic studies, following standardized protocols while adapting to patient-specific needs and conditions. Attention to radiation safety and dose optimization is emphasized, and you will be responsible for proper positioning, contrast administration coordination, image quality review, and timely communication of critical findings to the radiologist or ordering provider. The environment supports technologists who take initiative, manage their workflow independently, and maintain a calm, patient-focused demeanor during higher-acuity or high-volume periods.
Working in this Hartford-area facility offers the opportunity to gain experience within a well-regarded healthcare setting, building your resume with exposure to advanced imaging equipment and a variety of clinical scenarios. The region’s strong healthcare infrastructure, combined with Farmington’s welcoming community, makes this assignment appealing for professionals seeking both career growth and a comfortable place to live and work during their contract.
