This 13-week Radiologic Technologist assignment is based in Richmond, Virginia, a dynamic capital city that blends rich American history with a lively modern atmosphere. The assignment places you within a modern imaging environment in the Richmond healthcare community. You will be working at several locations in the greater Richmond area, which may include hospital-based radiology departments and outpatient imaging sites. These facilities focus on patient-centered care and efficient diagnostic services, offering contemporary imaging equipment and digital workflows. The teams you will join are experienced, collaborative, and accustomed to working with technologists who rotate among different sites, making it a supportive setting for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and broad exposure to different patient populations.
The position is structured as a Temp Direct assignment with an expected 40 hours per week over approximately 13 weeks. Shifts will primarily be days and evenings, providing a balance between daytime diagnostic volumes and after-work accessibility for patients. On-call responsibilities are unlikely, allowing for more predictable scheduling. Work weeks are tied to a guaranteed hour structure, which supports consistent shift expectations. While specific dress code and parking details will be provided by the hiring team prior to start, you can expect professional attire appropriate for a busy imaging environment and clear guidance on site-specific requirements.
A typical day in this role will involve receiving orders through the EMR, verifying patient identity and exam indications, preparing patients for imaging procedures, and performing high-quality diagnostic radiographs using established protocols. You will ensure proper positioning, exposure settings, and adherence to radiation safety standards while maintaining a calm, reassuring presence for patients. After image acquisition, you will review images for diagnostic quality, transmit them through PACS, and communicate with radiologists and referring providers as necessary. Depending on the site, you may assist with portable imaging, support fluoroscopic procedures, or work in operating room settings alongside surgical teams.
Patient caseloads will vary by location, but you can anticipate a mix of outpatient, emergency, and inpatient exams, allowing you to refine your skills across a range of clinical scenarios. The work environment emphasizes teamwork, with technologists, nurses, and providers cooperating to manage exam schedules, respond to urgent requests, and maintain consistent turnaround times.
