This Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist position is based in Lima, Ohio, a welcoming Midwest community known for its friendly neighborhoods, manageable pace of life, and affordable cost of living. You will be working in a modern hospital setting with a well-established cardiac program and dedicated special procedures and cath lab suites. The environment emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based practice, and teamwork. The cath lab and special procedures areas are equipped with contemporary imaging systems, hemodynamic monitoring, and digital documentation tools to support efficient, high-quality care.
In this role, you will function as a key member of the procedural team, providing imaging and technical support for a variety of cardiac and vascular procedures. Typical responsibilities include preparing procedure rooms and equipment, verifying supplies and implants, and ensuring appropriate radiation safety measures for patients and staff. You will position patients, operate fluoroscopy and related imaging equipment, and assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures such as coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions, peripheral angiography, device implantations, and other special procedures as defined by the department.
Your day will involve close collaboration with cardiologists, radiologists, nurses, and anesthesia providers to ensure safe, smooth procedures and coordinated care. You will participate in patient preparation and post-procedure care within your scope, including verifying consents and documentation, helping maintain sterile fields, and supporting hemodynamic and rhythm monitoring as directed. Technologists in this department are expected to maintain competency with contrast administration protocols, equipment troubleshooting, and emergency response processes specific to invasive cardiac and vascular procedures.
The position is primarily a day-shift role, offering structured daytime hours along with participation in a call rotation to support emergent and urgent cases. Patient volumes and case mix may vary by day, but you can expect a steady schedule of elective and add-on procedures, with room turnover and workflow designed for efficiency and quality. Patient ratios are typical for a procedural technologist role, with a focus on maintaining safe and manageable case loads and strong support from nursing and ancillary staff.
