ABOUT THE SOUTH PUGET SOUND AREA
Olympia is Washington’s capitol city with the look and feel of an eclectic Pacific NW small town. As the Capitol, it has amenities of a much bigger city offering a host of terrific restaurants and vibrant cultural scene. It is the gateway to natural wonders and recreational activities. It is the cradle of the "Seattle Sound" the host of numerous community festivals.
The Puget Sound region is an outdoorsman’s paradise. There are limitless options for access to world class outdoor activities, including: fishing, hunting, boating, kayaking, skiing, biking, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, foraging, and mountaineering. Although we cannot guarantee you will be the first to see Sasquatch, we can assure you the path for discovery begins right out your back door! Mount Rainier, Olympic and North Cascades National Parks, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, and a host of National Forests are all nearby. The Puget Sound and the Columbia River are both right down the road. Seattle, Portland and Vancouver BC are around the corner and ready for exploration and a fun night out.
Olympia also has excellent schools, a stable economy, low unemployment, and healthy neighborhoods to raise your family. Redfin lists average Olympia housing prices in the $500K range, making it much more budget friendly then Seattle/Portland. Further, Washington state residents do not pay state income tax.
