How do I stop my current employer from seeing me?

Exclude them by name in RJ Recruiter, and control what is shared.

Last updated July 31, 2026

There is no single make-me-invisible switch, and it would be misleading to suggest otherwise. There are three controls that do the work.

  1. In RJ Recruiter, open your preferences and add your current employer to the excluded employers list. This both keeps you out of their view and takes their roles out of your matches
  2. If you are setting RJ Recruiter up for the first time, it offers this during setup — take it then rather than later
  3. In your profile, check the switch for sharing your phone number, and leave it off if you would rather be reached by email

What these controls do not do

They govern what happens here. If you apply to a role, that employer receives your application — an exclusion list does not override something you chose to do.
