Extend or renew — how do I stop a job expiring?

Extend while it is live. Renew after it has lapsed. They are not the same.

These two get confused constantly, and the difference costs money.

	Extend	Renew
When you can use it	While the posting is still live	After it has already expired
What it does	Pushes the expiry date out	Puts the role back on the board and resets the posted date
How the role reads to candidates	Unchanged	Newly posted
What it costs	Nothing extra on a membership; on credits, ask before you assume	A credit, or a free membership slot
Where to find it	On the posting in your dashboard	On the expired posting in your dashboard

Renewing needs a free slot on a membership

If all your slots are full, close or let another role lapse first — or the renewal has nowhere to go.
